摘要
本文介绍了《呼啸山庄》在批评界的遭际,主要分析这部小说在19世纪被冷落、20世纪受重视的原因,认为此种情况与小说表现的非理性主义有关。《呼啸山庄》表现的爱情建立在同一性而非互补性基础之上,男主人公复仇之凶残也达到令人发指的地步。小说一男一女、一外一内的叙事策略有利于充分表现小说的主题,而小说家使用的特异叙事方式也对表现主题起到了特殊作用。
The article summarizes the past critical evaluations of Wuthering Heights, analyzes the reasons why it was neglected in the 19th century and highly praised in the 20th century, and points out that the circumstance is related to the irrationalism in the novel. Then the novel＇ s theme of love and revenge is discussed, love being based on congruence instead of complementarities, and revenge being extremely cruel and horrible. The theme is best represented by the narrative strategy, which uses two narrators： one male and outside the story, the other female and inside the story, and the special narrative method employed by the novelist also contributes much to the good representation of the theme.
