摘要
美国社会学家、著名的民意测验专家丹尼尔·杨克洛维奇认为，在未来十年的芙国，人口老龄化、科技教育方面的弱点、理解其它国家语言和文化的需要、高等教育对社会流动的责任不断受到挑战以及公众对非科学认知方式的推崇等五大因素将会极大地影响高等教育的发展，高等教育必须对此做出积极地回应才能有利于高等教育自身的可持续发展及保持美国的世界领先地住。这些分析对我国未来高等教育的发展有着重要的启示作用。
Daniel Yankelovich points out that five trends-changing life cycles as American population ages, A- merican growing vulnerability in science and technology, the need to understand other cultures and languages, in- creasing challenges to higher education＇s commitment to social mobility and public support for other ways of knowing-will affect the development of American＇s higher education in following 10 years, and higher education must respond to such trends if American colleges, universities and nation want to be better off in the future. The analysis has important enlightenment to Chinese higher education development in the future.
