The paper starts with describing the nature of naphthenic acid, its corrosion mechanism and characteristics in the processing of crude oil. Then the analyses and comments focus on the influences of factors like acid value, temperature, flowing rate and sulfur content on naphthenic acid corrosion. Finally, the paper presents the further work and research direction in this field in near future.
