摘要
中国意象书写在当代美国女作家谭恩美的小说中具有很强的文学张力。它徘徊于历史的真实与文学的虚构之间。在历史的真实性方面,谭恩美笔下的中国意象书写是其以女性主义视角审视传统与现代中国文化的结果,吸引了主流文化的关注;在文学的虚构性方面,谭恩美小说中的中国意象书写却又不断增强了其作品的文学艺术性,奠定了其在当代美国文学界的重要地位。她的中国意象书写在体现历史真实性的同时更多地在于其文学虚构性。这种以历史真实性为铺垫带有极强文学虚构性特征的中国意象书写体现了其创作本质:美国文化视角下的中国意象书写,具有很强的艺术虚构性,是作家用文学探索人生问题的重要媒介。
The images of China in Amy Tan's fiction bear a great literary charm because they move between historical reality and literary imagination. On one hand, as the result of her describing China with a feministic view, the images of China are historically real and appeal to the mainstream culture; on the other hand, the images are literarily invented, and help enhance the artistic value of her fiction. It should be pointed out that the images of China in her novels embody more sense of literary invention than that of historical reality. And the images also help to reveal the nature of her fiction writing: a look at China with a perspective of American culture, a high degree of artistic invention, and an important means by which to explore life.
