Displacement, as an important phenomenon in Alice Walker's African trilogy, reveals how the western imperialism gradually invades African tribes. The tragedy of the displaced who resist colonialism negatively implies the solution of national culture issue of the colonized tribes. Despite affirming African culture as a whole, Walker criticizes the female circumcision as corrupt custom, which reflects her cultural consciousness of self-examination.
