摘要
意境是文学翻译的灵魂。直译与意译是翻译的两种方法,也是翻译界争论的焦点。本文在阐述直译与意译的定义及其关系、文学翻译的定义及其主要任务的基础上,通过对比分析张谷若的《苔丝》译本与孙致礼、唐慧心的《苔丝》译本在词汇与句法方面的不同,及这些不同对传递原作的意境的影响,探讨文学翻译中直译与意译哪个更能有效传达原作的意境。
Artistic conception is the soul of literary translation. Literal translation and free translation are not only the two methods but also the two disputing ones in translation field. On the basis of stating the definitions of literal translation, free translation and the relationship between them, the definition of literary translation and its main task, the author compares and analyses Zhang Guruo＇s Chinese version of Tess and Sun Zhili and Tang Huixin＇s version. By Comparing and analyzing the two versions＇differences in words and syntax, and how these differences affect the transmitting of the artistic conception of the original work, the paper explores which method is better to perfectly transmit the artistic conception of the original work, literal translation or free translation.
