从时间哲学的角度分析,《献给爱米丽小姐的一朵玫瑰花》中爱米丽的悲剧命运有其时代性和特殊性:南方名媛爱米丽在时代急剧变迁的历史环境下,拒绝接受时间向前发展的现实,耽迷于旧式南方的思维习惯以寻求精神支柱和心理平衡,但最终还是被时代遗忘,孤独地死去。这说明时间是强大的,爱米丽与时间的斗争只能以悲剧收场;同时,小说中浓厚的时间意识也反映出小说家福克纳对待时间及南方历史的复杂心态。
If we analyze A Rose to Miss Emily from the perspective of temporal philosophy, we will find that Emily＇s tragic life has features of time and particularity. The southem lady Miss Emily refused to accept developing reality in sudden changing. She was fascinated by the old southem thinking habits to pursue spiritual support and psychological balance. However, she was forgotten by time and died alone. This explains that time is powerful and Emily＇s struggle with it only ends in failure. Meanwhile, the strong temporal sense reveals the author Mr. Faulkner＇s complex psychology of temporal development and southem history.
