摘要
采用化学沉积的方法,在微细的Al2O3粉末表面包覆一层金属钴膜,以热压制得的Al2O3/Co新型陶瓷具有良好的综合力学性能。其强度和韧性均比纯Al2O3陶瓷有显著的提高。通过对其断裂行为的研究表明,金属钴在基体中以单质的形式存在。分布于晶界的金属钴膜抑制了晶粒的长大,有效地改善了Al2O3陶瓷的脆性及断裂性能。
Mechanical ball milling is the most common method for blending ceramic powder with ductile particles such as metal powders. In this paper, a new powder processing approach is offered. Al_2O_3 powder particles are coated with a layer of metallic cobalt by chemical vapor deposition. The thickness of the cobalt film can be controlled by adjusting the deposition conditions. The hot-pressed Al2O3/Co ceramic possesses excellent mechanical properties. It is shown that pure metal cobalt presented in the grain boundaries can prevent the grain growth, and hence improve the brittleness and fracture properties of the Al_2O_3-based ceramic.
