[ Objective ] To investigate the levels of blood fat and the risk factors in heroin addicts during the withdrawal period in Wenzhou city. [Methods] A total of 364 heroin addicts in the drug rehabilitation center of Wenzhou city were surveyed. Blood pressure, body height, body weight, blood fat and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) were measured, and surface areas and body mass index (BMI) were calculated. The results were compared with those in 700 healthy aduhs who were randomly selected at the same period in the medical examination center of Wenzhou. [ Results] Comparing with healthy adults. the values of total cholesterol (TC) and high-density lipoproteins (HDL-C) of heroin addicts were significantly, degraded (P 〈 0.01), triglyceride (TG) values were significantly devated (P 〈 0.01 ), low-density lipoproteins (LDL-C) values had no significance (P〉 0.05). The prevalence rate of hyperlipoidemia in heroin addicts was significantly higher than that in healthy adults (P 〈 0.05). The prevalence rate of abnormal blood fat in heroin addicts was significantly higher than that in health adults (P 〈 0.05). The correlation analysis between BMI and TC, TG. HDL-C and LDL-C showed that the TC. TG and LDL-C had positive correlations with BMI (P 〈 0.01 ), HDL-C had negative correlation with BMI (P 〈 0.01 ), the correlation analysis between ALT and TC, TG, HDL-C and LDL-C showed that the TC. LDL-C had negative correlations with ALT (P 〈 0.01). Therewas a positive correlation between gender, BMI, ALT and morbiditv of abnormal blood fat (P 〈 0.05 ) in heroin addicts. There was a positive correlation between age, gender, BMI and morbidity of abnormal blood fat (P〈 0.05) in healthy adults. [Conclusion] Comparing with healthy adults, the morbidity of abnormal blood fat in heroin addicts is significantly higher. The damage of liver function, low BMI and disorder of emotion may affect on the mode of blood fat in heroin addicts.
