Fentou（分投） as a new form developed in Early Modern Chinese shows some special character in use. Fentou（分投）is the same as fentou（分头） in pronunciation, meaning and ugage, so they can be seen as the variant forms of a same word. Because of the interchangeability between tou （头） and tou（投）, fentou（分头） is extended to fentou（分投）, therefore , fentou（分投） does not undergo the process of grammaticalization. Some writers are prone to use fentou（分投）, instead of fentou（分头） ,just becausefentou（分投） is easier to make word-meaning association than fentou（分投头）.
