Dynamic Quality of Service Management Mechanism in Access Network

摘要 为了更好地满足多媒体业务的服务质量要求,需要进行有效的服务质量管理。接入网链路带宽小和网络设备功能低,更可能发生拥塞,现有的大多数端到端的方法无法有效用于接入网服务质量管理。该文提出一种接入网动态服务质量管理机制,包括接入网联合接纳控制和负载均衡2个部分。仿真表明,该机制提高了接入网的性能,并在接入网重载时,用户的平均等待时间明显减少。 In order to meet Quality of Service(QoS) requirement of multimedia application, efficient QoS management has to be performed. Access network has more probability of becoming congestion than kernel network because of its low link-bandwidth and insufficient capability of network equipment. However, most end-to-end methods do not adapt to QoS management of access network. This paper presents a dynamic QoS management mechanism in access network, which consists of joint admission control and load balancing, and shows through simulation that this mechanism can improve performance of access network and obviously reduce user's average waiting time when access network is heavy-loaded.
