摘要
《庄子.内篇》篇名形式工整,寓意深刻,对其翻译是一种挑战。本文以彼得.纽马克的语言功能与翻译方法为理论基础,从原作的语篇和功能上对林语堂、冯友兰、汪榕培三人的不同译作进行了分析,论证了篇名应当以发挥语言的呼唤功能为重,采用传意翻译法为佳。
The names of the inner chapters of Chuang-Tzu is characterized by their Symmetry in form and profoundness in meaning. Therefore, the translation of them has always been a challenge to the translators. On the basis of Peter Newmark theory, the essay analyzes the three different versions translated respectively by Lin Yu- tang, Fengyoulan and Wang Rongpei. It ends with the conclusion that the translation of names should reflect vocative function through communicative approach.
