摘要
大运河的开凿,改变了沿线地区的经济和人文面貌。对于嘉兴这样的江南城市而言,运河更成为其文化上的重要分水岭。人文荟萃的嘉兴由于运河而逐渐成为江南文化的中心地区。这充分表明:大运河不仅沟通了南北经济,而且使得不同文化得以交汇融合,促进了江南城市的蜕变;不仅使北方文化传播到江南,而且使江南文化的影响扩散开来。对于运河边的嘉兴而言,则是改变了其原先以渔稻文明为主体的城市文化结构,使其成为一座真正意义上的"运河之城"。
The excavation of the Grand Canal has significantly changed economy and humanistic features in areas along the Canal. As a city in the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Jiaxing benefited a lot from the Grand Canal, which is the landmark in the development of culture of Jiaxing and has promoted Jiaxing to be the center of Jiangnan Culture. The example of Jiaxing reveals that, not only has the Grand Canal connected the Southern economy with the Northern economy, but it has promoted the cultural exchange and merge.
