摘要
考察20世纪二三十年代广州小学教师的薪资和生活状况,不难看出:尽管他们的薪资在全国范围内来讲并不算低,但相对于当时广州这个城市较高的生活水平以及小学教师较为特别的生活方式和消费习惯,再加上时局动荡,政府时常拖欠、折扣工资等,实际上广州小学教师的生活是非常清苦的,有时甚至连温饱都难以维持。小学教师的这种生活状况不可避免地给他们日常教学、自身素质和职业发展带来一些不良影响。
The paper probes into the salary and living conditions of primary school teachers of Guangzhou City in the 1920s and 1930s. It is found that, although the salary was not low at the national level, the life of the teachers was rather hard and sometimes some of them could hardly afford the adequate food and clothing. The living conditions existed due to quite a few factors： high standard of living in Guangzhou City, special life style of the teachers and their consumption habits, and arrears of salary or reduction in salary by the government. Consequently, negative influence was exerted upon the teachers＇ daily work, competence and career development.
