Design Model of Pr doped Fluoride Optical Fiber Applied to Optical Amplifier Operating at 1300 nm

摘要 本文论述了光纤通信的发展历程,指出了90年代应开发的几项新技术并概述了我国光纤通信技术的研制和工程开发情况。 The signal properties of a praseodymium doped fluoride fiber amplifier have been studied with a signal model for a Pr 3+ four level laser system. The model takes into account the LP 01 mode radial field distribution in step index single mode fiber to obtaine stimulated emission, signal excited state absorption and pump absorptions cross sections. It has been found that the optimum cutoff wavelength is at 750μm and independent of numerical aperture and input pump power. The numerical aperture should be made as high as possible.
