The ancient Greek mythologies, as the oldest form of oral literature, preserve the samples of human nature in its most original and natural way, which embodies apparent ethical and moral tendency. The ethical core of Greek mythologies is centered mainly on the humanism and rationalism. The existence of patriarchal system exerts great influence upon the gender ethics of the Greeks. Therefore, in light of ethical literary criticism, the thesis will interpret the ethical and moral outlook by rereading the free will based on humanism, the pursuit of perfection guided by reason and gender differences under the patriarchal system reflected in ancient Greek mythologies. In terms of ethical literary criticism, the reader can re-recognize the ethical literary value of ancient Greek mythologies.
