摘要
隐喻性表达的普遍性,证明隐喻在语言中具有不可替代的重要性,显示了隐喻性表达是语言能力的重要构成。就此而言,隐喻能力是提高语言能力的保证,而隐喻能力的提高取决于学习者对基本概念隐喻及其相应的概念系统的了解和掌握。因此,在教学中有意识地培养学生的隐喻能力,是使学生提高英语听说读写能力的行之有效的途径之一。
The universality of metaphoric expression proves its irreplaceable importance in language and the essentia/component of linguistic competence. Metaphoric competence is the guarantee of the promotion of linguistic competence, while the promotion of metaphorie competence is dependent on ESL learners＇ understanding and mastery of basic conceptual metaphors and their corresponding systems. Conscious cultivation of students＇ metaphoric competence in the precess of English teaching has turned out to be a very effective way to reach n higher level of English proficiency.
