摘要
古代字书"鬧"字首见于《说文新附》,一般以为产生于唐代。本文利用出土汉简材料,考证了"鬧"字至迟产生于西汉,并且其本义不是一般的嘈杂义,而是争斗义。可以弥补语文辞书的不足,并为汉语史研究提供证据。
The ancient Chinese Character “鬧 ” first appeared in “Shuowenxinfu” , and is generally believed to have emerged in the Tang Dynasty. This article probes into the origin of this character using unearthed materials of bamboo slips in the Han Dynasty. It is found that “鬧” emerged in Western Han Dynasty at the latest, and that the original meaning of this character is “conflict” rather than “noise”. The study redresses the inadequacy of Chinese lexieographieal works, and provides evidence for the study of the history of Chinese language.
