摘要
塑料光子晶体光纤(PPCF)同时兼有塑料光纤和光子晶体光纤的优点,很可能成为短距离、中小容量光纤通信系统的首选传输媒质。端面的制备成为其应用的一个瓶颈。在分析聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PMMA)材料的物理特性基础上,对PPCF的端面制备工艺,尤其是切割法,进行了详细论述。采用单片机精确控制切割机的温度,利用步进电机准确控制刀的速度,制造出集成度高、价格低廉、性能优良的PPCF切割机,切割出理想的光纤端面。
Photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is thought to be one of the most promising technology in fiber optics field. Plastic photonic crystal fiber (PPCF) is well suited in short distance and medium speed optical fiber communication systems due to its inheriting the merits of both polymer optical fiber (POF) and PCF. The end-face preparation of PPCF is a bottleneck in its application to the systems. The end preparation technology especially the cleaving method for PPCF based on the physical property of PMMA is described in detail. It's used single-chip processor to control the temperature of the cutter, and stepping motor to control the velocity of the blade accurately. As a result, a PPCF cutter with high integration, low cost, fine performance and ideal PPCF end-face is made up.
