摘要
在中国,美育思想古已有之,但作为学术话语却是在近代由王国维从西方引入,蔡元培等继而进一步阐释的。在他们看来,美育具有双重功用,即集超功利(即审美)与功利于一体:前者认为美育的目的是使人放弃欲望的纠缠而获得纯粹的快乐,令人愉悦,归根结底是一种情感教育;后者以为美育的目的在于辅助德育和智育,从而帮助教育塑造完美人格。
Aesthetic education, having existed long in China, was only introduced in modem times by Wang Guowei as an academic term and illustrated by scholars such as Cai Yuanpei. In their eyes, aesthetic education combines the aesthetic function with the utilitarian one. The former function aims at discharging people's tangled desires while the latter one helping building people's integrated personality.
