岭南名相张九龄是一个传奇式人物。他天资聪颖,文才出众;为官清正,敢于直谏;独具慧眼,明辨忠奸。张九龄的命运和大唐国运息息相关,张九龄罢相标志着唐玄宗开始走向昏庸,大唐国运开始走向衰败。
Zhang Jiu-ling, Tang Dynasty＇s famous premier from Guangdong, was a legendary figure. He was of eminent lit- erary talent and exceptional insight. He was incorruptible and had the courage to remonstrate at court without reserve; as a man of keen discernment, he could distinguish between loyalty and treachery. ZHANG Jiu-ling′ fate was closely related to the fortunes of the great Tang dynasty. His dismissal signaled the beginning of Emperor Xuanzongs fatuity and the decline of the great Tang Empire.
