71 workers exposed to carbon disulfide in a rayon factory and 31 unexposed health workers as controls were investigated. The results showed the levels of urinaria β 2 microglobulin(β 2 MG) and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) in the exposed group were significantly higher than that of control group, and increased progressively with increasing concentration of carbon disulfide and working years;but alkaline phosphatase (AKP) and albumin(Alb) in high concentration and working year of expoesd group were higher significantly than that of control. That indicated the β 2 MG and LDH may be early biomarkers of renal lesion in chronic carbon disulfide workers.
