摘要
"放焰口"是密教的施食饿鬼的仪轨之一,自宋元至明清都是南北方重要的民俗之一。《阅微草堂笔记》中记载许多北方民间"放焰口"、施食饿鬼的故事,"放焰口"呈现出适用范围更广、富有变化和惩戒意味的民俗化特征,这与佛教世俗化、清代的僧尼制度、厚葬风俗、明清功利化的民间信仰有很大关系。
"Fang Yan Kou" is one of the secret denomination's rituals, and is also one of the important folk customs in the south and north during the period of Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasty. The folk stories about "Fang Yan Kou" and giving food to the starving ghosts have been recorded in Yuewei Cottage Notes. "Fang Yan Kou" appears the folk characteristics of being suitable to a more broad area, being rich in changes and full of the meanings of disciplining somebody as a warming which have something to do with the folk belief of the commonness of the Buddhism, the system of monk and nun in the Qing Dynasty, the folk customs of burying with generous funeral and the utility in Ming and Qing Dynasty.
