摘要
海明威的长篇小说《永别了,武器》中的女主人凯瑟琳·巴克莱一直都是评论界争议的人物形象。海明威事实上是借助他的女主人公凯瑟琳塑造了一个具有女性意识的崭新的女性形象。本文从小说的创作背景及文本内容入手,反驳了传统评论家对其所持的偏狭观点,以女性主义的角度重新审视了这位女主人公的形象,以期给她一个客观、公正的评价。
Catherine Barkley is the heroine of Hemingway＇s novel A Farewell to Arms, who always amuses literary critics＇ controversial opinions on her. Quite against traditional critics＇ partial opinion on Catherine, this paper, based on the writing background and the detailed text of this novel, redresses the Characterization of Catherine Barkley from the feminist standpoint in order to judge Catherine＇ s image objectively and impartially.
