20世纪80年代初,地震勘探在盆地中发现了中央古隆起,它的确定对长庆油田天然气勘探起了决定性的作用。因此,围绕中央古隆起的形成开展了诸多方面的研究,学者们站在不同角度对中央古隆起成因提出了早古生代为贺兰裂谷肩引起的均衡翘升以及晚古生代为碰撞谷所致的观点。通过对鄂尔多斯盆地基底各岩系的对比及其基底形成、发展、后期盖层演化的研究后发现:鄂尔多斯盆地中央古隆起应由北东向兴和——平凉微陆核两侧多次的翘倾作用.以及蓟县系官道口群厚层碳酸盐岩深入盆地西南部叠加引起的沉积差异所形成的观点似乎更具有说服力。
In early 1980s, the Central paleouplift was discovered from seismic exploration in the Ordos basin. It identified the Changqing oil and natural gas exploration and played a decisive significance. Thus, various researches were unfolded around formation of the Central paleouplift. Scholars bring forward from different angles following two viewpoints about forming of the Central paleouplift. One is that the paleouplift was the balanced rise caused by the Heian rift shoulder in early Paleozoic, and the other is that, the paleouplift was caused by the collision valley in Late Paleozoic. The author of the paper finds, after studying various rock series contrast in Ordos basin's basement and formation, development, late-stage caprock evolution of the basement, that this point of view seems to be more convincing: the Central paleouplift in Ordos basin should be formed by sedimentary differences aroused by repeatedly upwarping of the North-East Xinghe-Pingliang micro-continental-core sides and thick carbonate of Guandaokou Group, Jixian System, going deep into the southwestern basin and superimposing.
