摘要
理查德.杰弗里斯是英国维多利亚时代后期描写自然和乡村生活的重要作家,其《捡橡果的孩子》以一个小男孩寂寞的生与死反映了英国工业化进程中乡村下层社会的生存困境以及道德与宗教的异化。本文着重讨论《捡橡果的孩子》如何展现了自然的奇妙中人类生存的残酷和悲剧。
Richard Jefferies（1848-1887） is a British writer best known for his prolific and sensitive writing on natural history,rural life and agriculture in late Victorian England.His The Acorn-Gatherer,through the lonely life and silent death of a little boy,depicts the difficult life and moral and religious alienation of the lower-strata people in rural areas in the process of industrialization.This paper explores how the work reveals the hard and miserable human life while presenting the beautiful nature.
