摘要
该文提出一种基于导波共振的反射型聚合物电光可变光衰减器,它是利用聚合物薄膜的电光效应,通过电场控制衰减全反射(Attenuated-Total-Internal-Reflection)结构中入射光到导模的耦合效率,从而控制波导结构对入射光的吸收即衰减量.由于器件核心结构为衰减全反射结构,整个器件无运动部件,因此器件具有稳定性好、响应速度快、工艺简单和成本低廉等特点.
A electro-optic polymer variable optical attenuator (VOA) with reflection configuration based on guided wave resonance is proposed. The mechanism of VOA is investigated to electrically controlled the varying energy coupling efficiency of a incident light into a guided mode using electro-optic effect of polymer. This letter explains the principle of attenuator operation and presents experimental results obtained on a realization of the device.
