This paper gives an introduction about the painting in maintenance for port handling equipments ： the reason of the corrosion of the steel structures, the notices in anti - corrosion coat maintenance, the determination of the interval for painting service, remove of the rust on material surface of steel and decontamination method and their quality requirements, the selection guidance for the painting auxiliaries, the process and the key notes for implementation of the painting service and the accepted demand for coat quality.
