摘要
外语教师发展问题主要涉及教师培训和教学研究，这两个问题在我国关系到十几万外语教师的职业生存和教育质量。教师是办学的主体，是培养人才的人才。高校外语教师如何应对外语教育的新形势、新标准、新要求、新挑战？加强师资队伍建设，完善师资培训体系，鼓励教学研究，考虑教师的实际需要，解决教师教学的实际困难，帮助教师在提高自身素质的同时提高教学质量，是迫在眉睫的事情。
The development of foreign language teachers mainly involves teachers training and teaching research which affect much the teaching quality and the career development of more than one hundred thousand foreign language teachers in China. How to meet the new challenges to achieve a high standard and requirement under the new situation is a problem which college and university foreign language teachers must face. In order to solve the problem the paper suggests that teachers training should be enforced and meanwhile be combined with teaching research to improve the teaching quality and teachers＇ academic abilities.
