摘要
文章从女性主义文学批评理论入手,解读当代英国小说家爱玛.泰南特的神话故事《菲洛梅拉》,分析故事中的性别模式、象征,女性对男性复仇方法的选择,可以看出,泰南特对古典神话的重写有其特有的目的。她呼吁人们重新寻找女性创作的传统,并且再一次陈述了女性朋友们团结起来,组织姐妹会共同对抗男权社会的压迫的重要性。
This essay attempts to reexamine Philomela by British contemporary novelist, Emma Tennant, in the way of employing the feminism literary theory, and asserts that Tennant＇s rewriting of the myth has her own special meaning. After the exploration of the sex role stereotypes represented in the text, the symbolic meaning of the tapestray as well as the avenging way of the deserted women against the men, it is concluded that this story is a narrative of a radical feminist. And through the rewriting of the old Greek myth, Tenant assumes the importance of the organization of the sisterhood and the recuperation of the feminine writing tradition.
