摘要
In the Filth Session of the Tenth National People's Congress,Premier Wen Jiabao stressed in the Report of Government Works:As a break- through of realizing the new way of economic growth,we should conduct and strengthen energy saving and environment protection,so as to build an energy saving and environment-friendly society. As Premier Wen's illustration,the extensive economic growth will inevitably lead to the consequence of high energy consumption and seri- ous environmental pollution.The target of energy saving and emission reducing put forward by The Eleventh Five-year Program should exert a significant role in promoting the economic growth and strengthening the energy efficiency and environment protection. On June 24,The Standing Committee of the National People's Con- gress discussed the amending draft of Energy Saving Law,according to which energy saving will be legally set into a Fundamental National Policy. Against this background,the Tenth China International Environment Protection Exhibition & Conference (CIEPEC 2007),which was hosted by State Environmental Protection Administration and undertaken by China Association of Environmental Protection Industry was held in Bei- jing. The CIEPEC,as the largest international exhibition of China's en- vironmental protection industry,has got great support from the People's Congress,Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC),The Ministry of Science and Technology,The Ministry of Finance,The Ministry of Con- struction,Beijing Government,etc.,and has made great contributions to the international communication and cooperation,the import of advanced pollution treatment technology and equipments,and the promotion of the development of domestic environment protection industry as well.
