摘要
20世纪末以来,世界经济、科技的全球化以及政治的多元化发展使国际间的综合实力竞争日益激烈。主动适应21世纪社会经济和科技发展的需要,迎接来自全球各个方面的挑战是世界高等教育面临的现实,而先进的大学理念是引领高等教育发展必不可少的因素。新旧世纪交替时期美国著名大学的理念指明了其在新世纪的发展方向。
Since the end of the 20th century, the globlization of the world＇s economy, science and technology and the diversification of politics bring about the sharper competition. The reality that the world＇s higher education faces is to meet the need of economy and science and technology and to meet all kinds of challenges from all over the world, while advanced ideas of universities are the necessary factors which direct the development of the higher education. The ideas of famous universities of America at the turn of the new century point out the direction of their development in the new century.
