Based on the collection of the information about the plastics industry at abroad from July, 2005 to June, 2006, the development of the plastics industry of the world in 2005 -2006 is introduced, the output and sale volume of the plastics of the world, as well as the output of the global resins and the import and export of the plastics products of all countries are given. As a contrast, the production of plastics in China is also introduced. In the order of general thermoplastic resin （PE, PP, PS, PVC and ABS resin）, engi- neering resin （PAL, PC, POM, thermo-polyester and PPO）, general thermoset resin （phenolic resin, PU, unsaturated resin and epoxy resin） and special engineering plastics （PPS, liquid crystal polymer and PEEK）, a description of the output, sale volume, supply and demand of the resins, the synthetic technology, the development of product, and the extension and application of the variety of resin is made in detail.
