摘要
作为光接收机前端的关键部分,限幅放大器要求具有高增益、足够带宽和大动态输入范围。利用IBM公司0.5μm S iGe B iCMOS HBT工艺设计了一种用于10 Gb it/s光纤传输系统的限幅放大器。整个系统包括一个输入缓冲级、3个放大单元级、一个用于驱动50Ω传输线的输出缓冲级和一个失调电压补偿回路。模拟结果表明采用3.3 V单电源供电时限幅放大器的功耗为200 mW,S21小信号增益大于46 dB,3 dB带宽为8.5 GHz,对于输入信号从10 mV到1.5 V的变化范围内输出信号幅值都可以恒定在800 mVpp。
As the key component of optical receiver, design of a high-speed limiting amplifier with high gain, broadband and a wide dynamic input range is required. In this paper, a limiting amplifier implemented IBM 0.5pan SiGe BiCMOS HBT technology for 10GbiCs fiber-optic transmission system is described. The whole circuit consists of an input buffer, three amplifier cells, an output buffer for driving 50Ω transmission lines and a pair of feedback networks for offset cancellation. The simulation results indicate that the power dissipation is about 200mW, the small-signal gain is higher than 46dB, 3dB bandwidth reaches 8.5GHz at a positive single supply voltage of 3.3V. The output signal voltage swing of 800mVpp can be available in a wide dynamic input range from lOmV to 1.5V.
