摘要
作为社会现象的语言总是要受到社会的制约。语言中的词汇对社会生活的变化尤为敏感,社会发展推动了英语新词的产生。英语新词也不可避免地烙上了英语民族文化心理的印记。本文结合近年来出现的英语新词,着重从科技、政治、经济和社会生活几方面分析了新词产生的社会背景和新词所折射出的西方社会文化心理。
Language, as a social vocabulary is particularly sensitive to phenomenon, is always restricted by the society in which it is used. The the change of social life. Social development leads to the creation of new words. And the newly created English words, to some extent, reflect the cultural mentality of the westerners. The present paper attempts to make an analysis on the social background of the newly created words, focusing on the influence from technology, politics, economy and daily life. The imprints of the cultural mentality in which the newly coined words bear are also discussed.
