According to the requiremeut of pilot process design, the supported liquid phase catalysts(SLPC) were prepared using three kinds of alumina ball with 1.75-2.75 mm diameters as carriers and rhodium phosophine complex as active precursor. The heterogeneous synthesis of propylaldehyde was performed from ethylene and syngas in stainless steel fixed bed reactor with the dimension of Φ18×300 mm. The factors influencing reactivity such as treatment conditions, property of carrier, inner and outer diffusion effect, the total pressure of reaction and the VHSV, were studied.
