A new cogeneration system using recuperative gas turbine to heat hot water is proposed to improve energy utilization efficiency and a basic thermodynamic analysis is given for this system with the equivalent exergy efficiency and economic exergy efficiency as the evaluation criteria for the cogeneration system as well as the average heat transfer temperature difference between the hot gas and the cold air in the recuperative process for the recuperator.It is found that such system is very efficient and the optimum pressure ratio for efficiency is about 3~4 regardless of other parameters.
