A Study of Code-switching in Chinese EFL Classrooms: A Pragmatic Approach

摘要 By generalizing the existing literature on the study of code-switching into four basic approaches, the present paper points out that some Chinese researchers' proposal of studying code-switching from a pragmatic perspective is convincing in terms of revealing the complexity of code-switching. With this in mind, the author tries to collect some examples of code-switching in EFL classrooms in China and tries to find out whether it is applicable to analyze these examples by using a pragmatic approach.
