AbstractThis paper elaborated the definition and subjects of sustainable development (SD),and some policies,measures of SD for China as well. The author suggested that some Policies and measures should he included:1. controlling amount of adulation, improving the quality of POPulation, increasing jobs in many waysand quickly establishing and improving the system of social insurance; 2. quickly transforming planning economy into marketing economy, and transforming extensive madal of economic growth into intensive modelof economic growth, setting up the system of national economy for SD; 3. upholding national economicprinciple of sustained, fast and healthy development; 4. macroscopically reg Ulating and controlling natural resources; and 5. establishing the system of environmental protation in accordance with economic development.
