John Donne is a representative poet of British metaphysical poetry in 17^th century, the age of classicism. This paper is to analyze the features of intermediacy in John Donne and his poetry from the perspective of postmodernism by means of semiotics and literal-reading of New Criticism so as to make a creative survey of the postmodernity in Donne. A particular metaphorical world was made by Donne's wit and conceit, in which text pieces are knitted and then presented to readers. In his works, John Donne's spirit was in implosion, featured with intermediacy, namely, a great uncertainty.
