摘要
《所罗门王的宝藏》是19世纪后期英国历险小说的代表性作品。小说的故事结构、人物刻画、对宝藏归属权的描写以及其中所蕴涵的价值观念都体现了殖民文学的典型特征,而并非某些批评家所说的那样毫无偏见。小说实际上为殖民掠夺的合法性进行了辩护。
King Solomon＇s Mines, a representative work of the 19 - century English adventure fiction, is typical of colonial literature in its structure, character portrayal, description of the mines＇ ownership, and the values advocated. The novel is not free of colonialistic and racial prejudices as some critics have presumed, and is actually a justification of the English colonial exploitation.
