Distillation is a very important part during the process of air separation. The paper describes in detail the necessity of distillation column fault diagnosis, it mainly introduces the realization of expert systems, including repository , consequence machine , etc. Combining the technique of fault diagnosis and expert systems, we can prevent and avoid accidents effectively , and it will be the trend of development of fault diagnosis.
