摘要
我国西部幅员辽阔,地广人稀,是少数民族的集结地区,因此在漫长的历史发展过程中,民族问题一直困扰着西部地区的繁荣与稳定。新中国建立后,党中央和国务院虽然也进行了卓有成效的开发与建设,但西部地区仍处于贫困落后状态。今天面对西部大开发战略目标的实施,加快少数民族地区的发展,促进少数民族之间的团结,仍然是构建西部和谐社会的关键。
The western region of China, vast in territory but sparsely populated, is inhabited by ethnic groups in compact communities. During the long years of development, the prosperity and stability of the western Region have long been perplexed by the ethnic problems. After the founding of New China, despite the marked progress in development and construction, the western Region is still in an impoverished and backward state. Today, in face of the carrying out of the strategic target of the Grand Development Drive in the Western Region, quickening the steps of development in ethnic regions and promoting the unity of ethnic groups are still the key to developing harmonious society in the Western Region.
