摘要
哈代在其《德伯家的苔丝》一书中成功的塑造了苔丝这一悲剧人物形象。为了刻画苔丝这个悲剧人物,哈代特意对两个男主人公(亚雷.德伯和安吉.克莱尔)作了深入、细致的描绘。然而,只有安吉.克莱尔才是将苔丝推向死亡的真正罪人。文章试着从两个方面对此作了论述,旨在帮助读者更好地理解苔丝的悲剧成因。
Hardy successfully created a tragic character Tess in his famous novel Tess of the D＂ Urbervilles, In order to picture the tragic Tesswell, Hardy purposely portayed other two male charaeters （ D＇ Urberville Jr.and Angel Clare） in a more careful way. Only Angel Clare, however,was the bract person who ruined Tess. The paper tries to analyze the issue from two aspects, hoping to help the reader understand the tragedy of Tess better.
