摘要
称谓语中的模糊现象由来已久,但却一直没有引起语言学界应有的关注,相应的文献和研究也屈指可数。本文从共时和历时的角度对中英文称谓语的模糊性作了初步的探讨,并结合面子论分析了称谓语的模糊性在实际交际中的运用及其语用功能,阐明了称谓语模糊性的语用功能在语言交际和使用中的重要性,也从另一侧面反映了不同文化中的称谓语在模糊性及语用功能方面具有共性。
Vagueness manifested by address terms is serf-e vident in language communication, but it is very often ignored by linguists and so far, not much research has been done to it. The present paper firstly elaborates on the vagueness of Chinese and English address terms from both the diachronic and the synchronic perspectives and then explores the application of their vagueness to language communication and its pragmatic functions with the face theory as the theoretical basis. The paper also reveals the importance of the vagueness manifested by address terms in language communication and the universality of it and its pragmatic functions in different language cultures.
