Objective: To explore the morphological characteristics of the microvasculature in cerebellar dentate nuclei of infants. Methods: The modified alkaline phosphatase staining method was adopted to study the structure of microvasculature in cerebellar dentate nuclei of infants. Results: The study showed the veinule and the anastomoses of microvasculature. Most of the microvasculature of cerebellar dentate nuclei was in root shape. Their rami were emitted by a large sharp angle or arc shape, and they anastomosed into meshes each other. The densities of the microvasculature were markedly higher than that of the medulla area. Conclusion: The right angle or arc shape of microvasculature is possiblely the morphological basis of hemorrhage in the area. The densities of the microvasculature are markedly higher than that of the medulla area, possiblely related to the larger consumption of oxygen and the active metabolizability of the nerve cells in the area.
