The 1,4,7,10-tetraazadodecane (abbreviatedas cyclen)was synthesized according to the methods of Richman and Atkins,and the 1,4,7,10-tetraazadodecane-α,α',α",α-tetramethyl-1,4,7, 10-tetraacetic acid(abbreviated as DOTMA ) was synthesized by the reactin of cyclone with 2-chloropropanoic acid. The complexes were synthesized by the reaction of DOTMA with rare earth chloride,and characterized by elementary analysis, thermal analysis and IR spectra. The structure forms of the complexes were expressed as Na [Ln(DOTMA)(H2O)]·2H2O, in which Ln is La, Nd, Er, respectively.
