摘要
经历了半个多世纪的冷落和抨击之后,爱默生再度成为学术界关注的焦点。20世纪80年代以来,学者和评论家开始重新解读并评价爱默生的思想及其影响。本文将以评述劳伦斯.布尔的《爱默生》为依托,结合近20年来爱默生研究的趋势和走向,分析爱默生的超民族意识、现代性忧患及哲学思辨在后现代语境中的现实意义。
After being criticized and discarded for more than half a century, Ralph Waldo Emerson becomes, once again, the focus of academic attention, with scholars and critics rereading his ideas and reevaluating his practical and potential influence. Based on a review of Emerson by Lawrence Buell, this paper, taking into account the current trends in Emerson studies, tries to analyze the significance of Emerson＇ s cosmopolitan sense, his anxiety of modernity and his philosophical speculation in the postmodern context.
