摘要 嵌入式零树小波(EZW)编码方法是一种简单而高效的图像编码算法。影响EZW算法性能的因素有很多,本文主要从图像类型、小波基和小波分解层数这3种因素出发通过大量的实验数据对它们对EZW算法性能的影响进行了比较,并通过对实验结果的分析与讨论,获取了相关的一些结论。这些结论将有助于更好地发挥EZW算法的性能,同时对在EZW基础上发展起来的改进算法的使用也具有一定的指导作用。 The embedded zerotree wavelet(EZW)coding is a simple and yet remarkably effective image coding algorithm. There are a lot of factors influencing the performance of EZW algorithm. This paper highlights three main factors out of them: the type of image, the wavelet basis function and the number of wavelet decompositions. By numerous comparative experiments, the impact of the above three factors on the performance of EZW algorithm is examined. Through careful analysis and discussion, some correlative conclusions are drawn, which will contribute much to exert potential coding efficiency of EZW algorithm. Also, these conclusions can provide a good reference for the applications of the improved algorithms based on EZW.
