Shape memory principle, kinds and application of shape memory polymers including electric induced polymer, photo induced polymer, chemical induced polymer, and thermal induced polymer were briefly introduced. The emphasis was on the main kinds, development status and applieation of thermal induced polymers. The future trend of shape - memory polymer was suggested.
